Luxman DA-07x In The House

I ordered this a couple of months ago, sight unseen, ears un-heard, all based on past and current experience from the ROHM Dac Chip and Luxman's expertise at building quality audio gear. Talk about service, the salesman drove this out to my home [more than 1 hour one way] to deliver it personally and set it up.

My previous experience with the ROHM Dac chip comes from the fabulous Cayin N8ii digital audio player. It uses two of these chips in dual-mono mode and all top notch components inside. The digital audio player itself is a beast, much too big and heavy for a pocket or any on-the-go situation. Instead I use it around the house as a portable desktop Headphone amp-Dac. At first I was concerned because it really didn't sound any better than any of my dual AKM dac chip digital audio players, in fact it was kind of harsh. But once it broke in, it was and is heaven on Earth. The Dac chip is made here in Japan, Kyoto and the sound is next level.

The DA-07x uses two of the ROHM chips as well with extra attention being paid to the power supply and analog section. As a ref I listened to the Luxman D-07x SACD/CD Player which uses the same Dac section...fantastic sound. Out the box the DA-07x brings everything to the table and knocked it out the park and its not even broken in yet. Spaciousness, detail, low end impact, vocals, its all there with less than an hour of listening. I'm going to let it break in for a month or so and report back.

J.
