Very interesting! I knew nothing about Lyrion until I read your post this morning. Just last week I bought a NOS 7 inch LG tablet to replace the old one I was using as a controller. It's very comfortable to hold and looks and works great using Orange Squeeze as the software interface. Decoding is via an Eastern Electric Supreme tube dac.
I use the Squeezebox Duet with a linear power supply on the hardware side and it sounds at least as good as all of the high end CD players I've used in the past. I have another Duet new in the box packed away in case this one ever fails. I bought both new on eBay for under $100 each several year ago and they are a nice value compared to more modern servers.
