A 2200 for $40 is a steal. IMHO it is a very decent all-around
player. I have owned one for several years now and it now resides
in my HT system. I am not familiar with your CD player so I
will not comment on how the 2200 will stack up against it.
But I will say that the 2200 can compete with CDs players in
the ~$500 range. I used mine for SACD/DVD-A in my 2 channel
system for a couple of years. I compared it to my MF A3
dedicated CD player and the A3 won out. The A3 has a much more
smoother analog type of sound than the 2200. But, the A3 was
~$900 new in it's day. I would assume that the 2200 will probably
sound pretty close to the CD player you have now. You should be
able to score a remote on Ebay if you get the 2200. The only
really irritable thing about it is the disk reading speed. It can
be slow reading the disk when you 1st put one in.
