That clock isn't in the DAC OR you are doing asynchronous sample rate conversion on the PC which is mangling your bits.

There isn't a capability for a USB device to source a clock to the PC, hence without a separate clock line to the PC from the DAC the PC has to be the clock source.

If USB allowed multiple bus masters, this wouldn't be a problem, but it doesn't.
