I'm curious if anyone out there has tried using a computer as a transport and then gone back to what they were using before. I've been experimenting with an Airport Express, although I haven't had enough time to really dig into comparisons, it seems to work pretty well. I just recently received a backordered USB input jack for my DAC from Digikey, so I'm curious to try hardwired vs. 802.11g.I realize there are many ways to screw up the sound with a computer a transport, driver settings, wireless configurations, digital volume controls, equalization, etc, so not all comparisons are equal.
There are also huge functional benefits to using a computer as transport, did that effect your decision, or was it mostly a sonic based decision?
Thanks for sharing your experience.
