So you are saying buy a CEC TL51X and then have it modified? Why cause it doesn't sound good unless you mod it? The Cary 303/300 sounds great right out of the box. Couple that with the fact that it has both a tube abd solid state output along with several steps of upsampling and you add up to a great CD Player.It reminds me of that modder's web site which calls (and I'm paraphrasing) the so-and-so DAC extraordinary and marvelous, but that these mods can make it sound even better.
Frankly, extraordinary and marvelous are good enough for me.
Unless my equipment needs repair or retubing, it stays closed. ;-)
