RE: Shield / ground

Wire quality is important for best sound quality. The four 24g conductors inside the Belden are quality stranded copper and have excellent sound qualities. The mesh shield, however, is not a quality wire for sonic purposes. It is fine for what it does, namely provide shielding for the conductors to prevent hum, but I would not use it as a signal conductor.
