While we audiophiles still have cables from the early-to-mid 90s, my wife never got rid of some of her college textbooks from the same era. Most of the girls majored in some form of biology, with MCB being common. But my wife was a Chemical Engineering major at Cal.
Due to chem and bio labs, the girls would be gone for hours. Our friend, who is now Dr. Ko, was a Bio Engineering major at Cal. I have no idea which chem class/lab this was, but the future Dr. Ko was successful in growing crystals. Some of her friends worked behind the scenes at Lawrence Hall of Science. Out of sight of the public, one got to raise and take care of lizard species. After seeing that, you sort of have mental revelations, about audio. And yes, these were the same girlfriends, who accompanied me to audio stores and shows, and to other audiophles' homes.
Anyway, the future Dr. Ko then went to dental school at UCSF. She influenced her husband to get Audio Physic Step loudspeakers. And I Cooked and gave them Tara Labs bi-wire jumpers.
My friends are of the age where our older Gen Z kids are now in college, including, yes, Cal. Demand for music and audio is higher than ever. It's just that, due to overcrowding, people need their audio to be physically small. That's partially why some of you have been asking me about the thin and flexible Kimber Carbon series.
