I've never had to do this and at last count have 36 Bullet Plugs in the system. With any that show signs of being a really tight fit, I force it onto an RCA jack of some off-line piece of gear, work it on and off a couple of times, and from then on it's fine. Frankly, the heat gun idea seems like a pain, but that's me :-)
