Cable choices for 30 ft phono stage-to-pre run

As I get back into vinyl I want to do it right. I have the opportunity to dive back in with a local purchase of a great Amazon Reference TT and Triplanar arm. I will likely use an Underwood-modded PS Audio GCPH phono stage, which can use either rca or balanced cables. My turntable setup will possibly be only 15 feet from my pre (which has balanced and rca inputs), but more likely across the damn theater room, probably 30 feet. My first inclination is to look for good balanced XLR cables to acomodate the long run and subsequent noise and inherent signal loss gremlins. Dunno really. I have active ATC 150's as my mains and have dabbled with HotWired (Ebay cable builder of Mogami 2549 Neutrik cables) from pre to ATC, but jury is still out as to the sound, due to newness, etc. I'm not terribly interested in spending huge audiophool dollars on cables, but if your opinion is that it takes "x" level to insure good quality, especially for something as important and possibly vulnerable as a line-levelled phono output, then I'll listen (pun intended). Thx
Ted
