In Reply to: RE: How do you know if LAST is removed? posted by 13th Duke of Wymbourne on March 27, 2024 at 15:54:50
I listened to the record before it was cleaned, after it was cleaned with a normal process that would not remove LAST, and lastly (!), I listened to the record after a full treatment intended to remove LAST.
I could hear LAST on the surface and did not after its removal.
Did I get it all? Probably impossible to say.
Follow Ups:
I was one of the very first LAST dealers when Walter went retail with it. I've used it on hundreds of records and can to this day, pull out a LP and it sounds just like it did 40+ years ago. Sold LOTS & LOTS of the product over the years. Never an issue or concern.
HUGE believer (and user) of LAST preservative and will continue until I can't apply it any longer...
I used it for awhile , but when it first came out, my system was such that it presented pretty much just a concept of improvement , so I eventually lost interest. I was primarily attracted to the stylus lubrication.I have noticed over the years that the treated records always play like new and are much easier to dust off before hitting the platter. I don't have the records nor interest for a before and after comparison, but believe the science is valid and should probably grab some again , considering the advanced price and quality of records today.

If I have to spend anymore time preparing to listen to a record I won't be able to play it twice!
