Classic gear from yesteryear; vintage audio standing the test of time.

My first real " fix" Yamaha CR 600

Up until now I've been a guy who could clean up vintage gear cosme tically, maybe resolder an obvious bad connection, Replace a power switch, etc.
I finally decided to dip my toes into electronics. Got a multi -meter with diode setting and with the kind phone advice of a retiring tech., I dove into a free to me" Yamaha CR600 receiver that was dead in the water. No relay click, 2 burned fuses.
I learned how to measure transistors and resistors, found a shorted output transistor, had to get at and burnish the speaker relay switch contacts... and now, after about 12 hours of play, am fairly satisfied that things actually are working again! Great way to keep my 69 year old brain in shape!
