Hi, I have a Triplett tube tester model 3480 that I purchased on ebay some time ago. I bought it as stated "refurbished and calibrated" as I needed a good working tester my many tubes I had come across. When I got it it seemed to work just fine and I tested quite a few tubes with it. I had put it away for awhile and since I am getting more into tube gear I needed to test some more tubes. When I went to use it it wasn't working correctly.
Symptoms were-
- Line adjust would not affect meter- Line adjust pot was working as chart lights would get brighter when turned up as it usually did but needle wouldn't budge. And when I hit value to test emissions it would immediately PIN needle all the way to right.
I replaced the only 2 caps that were in the tester and deoxed the SHIT out of all controls/pots. Meter seems to be working smooth and fine. Still .....same problem ;(
The only things left to replace are the resistors on a resistor array but b4 I did that I wanted to get some input from here.
Thank you ahead for any help/info you can give me
