Pioneer SX-727 vs mid 2000's Onkyo AVR

Over the pandemic I've been getting more and more into upgrading my listening experience. I started with an Onkyo TX-ST805 AVR from around 2010 from a goodwill that's been a solid driver so far, especially when I upgraded from my bookshelf Klipsch R-41M to a pair of Klipsch Forte 1's earlier this year. They've absolutely blown me away and opened my eyes to just how good music and movies can sound. I recently got interested in getting a receiver that would match the Fortes, something from the 70's or early 80's so it's got the wood exterior and a silver front plate. I hadn't realized how expensive they got, with most in my area going for $500 at the cheapest. I started looking on eBay and finally found a Pioneer SX-727 at a good price that claimed to be fully functional and showed it was working in the pictures. I did some research and saw it was a mid range offering from the time but most people said they really liked theirs so I decided to go for it. I know it's going to have a different sound than my Onkyo but what I'm curious about is does anyone think it'll have higher audio quality for music than the AVR? Supposedly the Onkyo was one of their highest end models from that era.
