Many such units need modification to the amp etc. The engineers card not for sound quality, they made it sound how they like it.

If you can get the print I can tell you the best way to modify it, and even if you do change out the speakers you will likely need it.

There are a bunch of Magnavoxes and RCAs out there that sound much better than they ever did because of the proper modifications.
