klh model seventy-one help!

Hi all,

I found a klh seventy-one receiver on the sidewalk the other day. I replaced the fuses, two of which were shot, and looked inside, but am still having trouble getting this one going. One clue may be that the mono switch is acting weird. I get stereo sound (with a lot of noise/static) when the mono switch is pushed in. (I think this is the mono setting, but don't have a manual.) When it is out the output is very low and mono. I tested with speakers I know are good but it's just not working... Any advice?

Steve

P.S. I don't have hook-ins to the main speaker RCA plugs--could this be part of the problem? I am hooking the speakers to the "remote speaker" screws instead, with the raw wires.
