Present to myself - Yamaha NS-1000M :-)

I'm very excited. i haven't listened to them yet. the owner assured me they are in great shape and i can take them back or change for one of his other 3 pair if there's something wrong. i paid $550/par. not free, but a more than fair price.

they are near mint. even have the original tags still taped to the back. he's giving me his stands, but they were buried in the corner (with a another pair of NS-1000 on top of them). so, I'll get them in a few weeks when my friend buys another pair. i do have 9" metal adjustable AVF stands that should work.

I'm going to buy the 5-way binding post kit on eBay, but i guess I'll have to buy some cheapie pin terminations for now. right now it has those cheesy spring loaded posts.

anybody compared the 1000M to the 1000X (larger cabinet and carbon fiber woofer). I'm pretty sure he only has 1000M, but i can't tell as the other pairs were in a dark corner. all are black though.

I'll be using my McIntosh MC60 tube monoblocks and Precision Fidelity C4 tube preamp for reference.
