oldmac, hi. Your problem sounds like a dead shorted failed electrolytic capacitor. Your amp has a voltage doubler power supply. Check both caps in it. Also check any electrolytic downstream. My guess is the power trans is OK.
What do you mean refurbished? What was done to the amp? Did the purson who "refurbished" explain in detail? If not, why not?!
If parts were replaced what were they? Contact the person(s) who did the reburbishing. Ask direct questions. Expect direct clear answers.
