Re: HPM-100 tweeters

Thanks for the tip....

After I initially got no sound, I thoroughly excercised the L-pads, tried my best to spray Deoxit in them, etc. No sound.

Then I got out my trusty ohmeter (like I should have done to begin with). Both tweeters read completely "open", even when using the Mega-ohm range. I would expect that these tweeters would have a resistance of something below 10 ohms or so. But I have no doubt that the voice coils are open.

One super tweeter is also bad -- I swapped between speakers to verify, etc., while using an audio generator to output a 12.5kHz signal. One super tweeter dead, the other sings like a bird! But the super tweeter part number (HP-015A) shows up all the time on eBay; I just need to get one.

Any ideas on the "A" vs. "B" or "C" versions of the tweeter?
