I doubt it. But it could have been done when they were new. What you need to find out is whether the black under fabric is still there. Also, I wonder how acoustically transparent this fabric is. Another also is that you should note that only one grill has a badge. As far as your second question, as far as I am aware, different generations, and different versions (vinyl vs. wood veneer) of the Large Advents had different molding on the front. So it is very possible that the grills would be different. I know that the New Large Advents have rounded front molding and rounded grills, and the Original Large Advents are square.
