Hi, nvinyl66:My advice is to visit a good local main library and pull up volumes of issues of AUDIO and HIGH FIDELITY magazine from about 1952 through perhaps 1963.
I once owned a David Bogen DB-10 (I think) integrated amplifier. It was a beautiful looking unit, finished in some sort of greenish hammertone paint.
I sold it to a collector, who was a friend of mine.
Their products were of high quality and extremely well built in the fifties, and they were popular choices among audio fans.
Bogen eventually became more of a company devoted to providing PA-type gear later on, but for a while, was a strong favorite in high fidelity circles.
Look for their ads in the pages of the magazine I mentioned above.
That is how real research begins and ends.
Forget the web for a while. Delve into genuine documentation and look for images and period reviews, my friend.
Also: a good way to find reviews is to locate annual directories in issues of these magazines. Bogen high fidelity products were reviewed in the distant past. The evidence is to be found in such publications.
This is the best advice I can give to you and a wish for good luck!
