There is a preamp power socket (octal socket) on the side were the normally supplied preamp plugs into and gets it's power from. The preamp is where the power switch was. If you are using a different preamp, there will be no power switch for the amp. You will need to jumper pins 4 and 5 on the preamp power socket to get the amp to power on. It may have already been modified so you'll need to check.Be aware that these are 40+ years old. Depending on what the seller did, I'd suggest having an experienced technician check it out before you put it to use. People who pay extra for all original parts on these amps are kidding themselves as they typcially need all the caps replaced and a few carbon comp resistors too.
