Home Vintage Asylum

Classic gear from yesteryear; vintage audio standing the test of time.

Yep, been there....done that......

I purchased a Mac MX-110 from the owner of the stereo shop where I worked while in engineering school. In a fit of "hate those tube things", I sold it along with a Thorens TD-124/SME arm/Ortofon SPU cart for beer money - well, almost: it was rent money.

Until I picked up an MX-110 about 4 years ago, I hated the moment I did such insanity.

So, the question is, what is to be done with older gear as one upgrades in various ways? What I do now, is to rotate them through my system. I've got a couple of shelves of stuff, now, as a result.

So, for me, the bigger question is, what do you do when the shelves fill up? I don't have an answer to that one.....

I do know that I don't want to have the regrets I had 30 years ago.

Cheers,

David
