I knew what your question was going to be even before I opened your post. I saw that auction too and I *KNEW* who was going to win it the first day it was listed. The winning bid amount was due to the low serial number, essentially # 218. The winning bidder (hideharu0919) has won virtually every low serial number 7C that I have seen in the last couple of years (I may have missed a few). Apparently, he doesn't care what he has to pay for them.Given that, a seller could shill bid a low serial number 7C left and right and hideharu0919 will still win the auction. With eBay's new ridiculous bidder1, bidder2, etc. concept, nobody would ever know. Obviously hideharu0919 has some kind of fetish for low serial number 7Cs (or they are worth a million bucks in Japan). What I would like to know is why four other bidders, bid at least $5500 each?

P.S. Of course there's the old story about how the low serial numbers "sound better".
