"Vermont Public" in... umm... Vermont has, e.g., three HD channels available from their OTA transmitter operating at 89.7 MHz (antenna atop Mt. Ascutney in Windsor, VT*). Due to Vermont's challenging geography and the relatively spotty availability of broadband internet and even 4G cell service, they maintain a surprisingly large network of OTA broadcast transmitters.
Not sure all of their frequencies offer HD (ahem, "Hybrid Digital") content, and if they do, if all are the same, but I can speak for WVPR 89.7 MHz. If memory serves, HD-1 is their regular "News" broadcast program (which is not 100% news), HD-2 is BBC, and HD-3 is either their classical broadcast program and/or in season, live stream audio from the VT State House (when their government is in session).
Vermont is a very interesting little state** and Vermont Public (formerly VPR) is an astonishigly good little public radio network. Mrs. H and I are big fans, and also big supporters. Per capita, one of the most listened to public radio "networks" in the country. NHPR is OK, but fairly boring. Consequently, many Granite Staters in the Connecticut River Valley (i.e., not just us) listen mainly to Vermont Public. Indeed, they have a repeater transmitter located in Hanover, NH, to cover a dead spot in that area (and a good local audience, due in no small part, I suspect, to the presence ofFaber, umm, I mean Dartmouth College. :)
Oh, where were we? ;) HD Radio! At any rate, I have a cheapie 1st-generation Sangean HD tuner and I/we do listen, occasionally, to Vermont Public via HD at home***
Their music programming (e.g., the outstanding All the Traditions on Sunday evenings, hosted by Robert Resnick) sounds very good to me via HD. Don't tell anyone I said this, though... I'll lose most of my audiophile cred. ;)

** A Brave Little State per Vermonter Calvin Coolidge. I like to refer to Vermont as New York's theme park ;)
*** I default to HD Radio when in the car (FWIW).
all the best,
