Eliminating the 150 Ohms of Series Resistance

Hey, Max,

You hang around here for awhile, you'll see that Jeff has a serious jones for low total impedence in power supplies.  I ain't as religious about it as he is, but I agree that those resistors would be better of doing something else than dragging your PS down.

Besides, there's an easier, cheaper, better way to do it.   Take them out of there, and replace that 47µF cap with a, oh, 1µF film cap. That should drop your voltage considerably, without subjecting your choke to the rigors of choke-input operation.  If the voltage is now too high or low, simply adjust with the value of that first cap.
