I'm extremely new to DIY audio, so please have patience with me. I have many, many old transformers removed from old tube audio gear and test equipment, and want to use them for preamplifier projects. Problem is, I have no idea how to identify the primary and secondary winding voltages, safely. Does anyone know of a safe, relatively easy way to do this? A method that a "newbie" like myself might understand, maybe with an Ohm/Volt meter and not 110v line voltage. I would hate to light myself up putting 110V on the 6v secondary, potentially creating 2013v on the primary....that would really ruin my day. :)CT
