have been of more than adequate quality, so I guess something has changed over the years. They are glass/expoy and traces don't lift. If you don't like the 6922 sound run 6cg7 as I do. Many would call the 12at7 hard sounding also. I think 6dj8 done right is nice. Manley tended to use the same driver for everything and run the output tubes at insane voltage in my limited experience(VTL stuff). Joe's board is basically a "hedge" circuit which is capable of swinging a lot of voltage cleanly. I am glad you had good luck with the vta board.
