Per my tests a Tung Sol 6P5GT or Tung Sol 76 is superior to a 6SN7 with perhaps the exception of those rare $100+ Tung Sol 6SN7GT round plate tubes. And, I believe the Tung Sol 6SN7GT round plate would only equal the Tung Sol 6P5GT or Tung Sol 76 round plate at best. The 6P5 or 76 is a single section tube. I use approximately 200 vdc to a 68K plate resistor connected to the Tung Sol 6P5GT plate with a 3.2K unbypassed cathode resistor. The only 6P5GT or 76 that equals the Tung Sol are RCA Cunningham 6P5GT or 76 per my tests. Never tested a National Union brand though.
