I somehow managed to get this thing work..after tiring building hours.
I am glad that this is working fine, whether the sound is good or bad. To me of course my DIY amp sounds sweet, and you know why :-)
Plate choke and the power chokes are from a local parts supplier and the grid choke is from Sowter 9585 which is actually a grid choke with CT for phase splitting job, but works just fine as a normal grid choke. 6BE3 consumes less current with almost identical volt-current curve as 6CG3 or 6CJ3. James OPT. 6AL5 as diode bias for 6C45. Kwtubes still sells 6AL5s at a crazy low price on Ebay.
I dared to compare this, for a short tiem, against Wavelength Cardianal and guess what..in overall performance Cardinal is better as a 'product' which requires stability and safety and some more power. Also dynamic is better with Cardinal and I think Cardinal covers more 'speakers' out there including bass relflexed or others.
But this is my DIY and I can tell DC coupling diode bias pays off here to some degree, with some peaceful inner details (Wow.. I sound like a critic..hi hi)
