Folks:I'm going a little nuts and could use some advice. I am building a 2 chassis Aikido preamp and am getting wierd voltage readings from the power supply. In an effort to isolate the problem, I disconnected the 3 transformers from both the incoming 120 VAC line and neutral. In other words, 120 VAC enters the power supply and is not connected to anything at all. Even so, I get the following readings:
120 Line in & Neutral: 120 VAC
120 Line in & Ground: 19 VAC
Neutral & Ground: 5 VACI am using a 2-prong plug to provide the 120 VAC to the power supply, so Ground is currently floating. Power is supplied through a GFI plug, which has not tripped (presumably because Ground is floating). All of the components are mounted on a stainless steel platform.
Can anyone offer some sage advice?
Thanks,
Scott
