HOK and Hardy pretty much said it.You can make that amp sound very good just brnging it into spec..I use paper in oil caps but the 716s have many of the sonic characteristics of the pios being sprague is the company that made the vitq pios and the 716s.. Filter caps make a big difference as HOK said and make sure you dont sub in filter caps while leaving the old ones connected.Thats a big no no.Try to use carbon film resistors in the signal path and keep metal oxides out of the amp period..Metal films in the power supply are fine.
