the worst buzz and magnetic field coupling I seen was a toroid sold for tube amp - with no amplifier circuit whatsoever - just field, it coupled upon load and (IN4007) rectification a hideous harmonically rich field into an EI core ouput transformer which could be heard on a modestly efficient 12" driver box 25 ft way and could not be nulled by orientation. my friend then proceeded to build an amp around this xformer placing the input tube right next to this xformer. needless to say results weren't so good even after shielding tape and better SS diodes and a HF87 with multi-point steel chassis grounding was much quieter. donuts may saturate much worse (?)
