I built some unusual 2A3 SET and thought this could be of some interest to DIYers here. It's originated from Steve Bench's no R no C where he used tube diode for bias, and the Baby Ongaku circuit by Gorden Rankin,
and a tip of using 12B4 for 2A3 bias from my DIY club house.
I used total one hundred 4.7uF/400V electrolytic making almost 500uF for power supply. No strange sound like one big elctrolytic,
and friends here like the clean sound presumably due to the tube bias. This project is fun and all the bias is very stable. A good grid choke may bring some improvement but my wallet is..
Coupling cap needs to be bigger, I only used one in my hand.Cheers,
C.Y
