Richard, thanks for your input. I have a project in mind that will ultimately use Luhndal amorphous OT, but they are a little over budget at the moment, so I am looking for a good unit to tide me over. I presently have 1615's in there (pp 2a3's), and they sound very good, but long term I plan to make this amp usable with either 2a3 or 300B, and the 1615 isn't up to that task. One thing I noticed about the 1615 is the waveform starts deforming right at 30hz (at 8w, full power is about 10w) and looks really bad at 20hz. On the other hand, it looks good and stays flat out past 70khz! Once again, thanks for your input.
