Heater voltage tolerances were normally given as +/- 10%. Some research cited on Bill Perkins website (PEARL) shows that a 10% reduction in heater life actually can almost double tube life. In practical usage the case for D=yna PAs 2 and 3's demonstrates this. Most Dyna tube preamps I've found have their original tubes running and in fairly decent shape. One reason is that the Dyna filament voltage doubler circuit (nominal 24 volts) is usually down around 18 volts or so when I find them: that's only 9 volts across each tube! Of course it doesn't sound too good either.....but that's another factor.8^)
