Thanks. I should summarize my findings over the past couple months on my all-transformer-coupled pre-amp. My various negative findings with the Dyna SCA-35 output transformer, the Agilent DC power supplies for heaters and negative bias, and my success with the Tango NC-16s and NC-18s. I'll put together something after I try the battery-bias option. Right now I'm using one Tango NC-18 as the input, a 6SN7 with cathode bias, and then the Tango NC-16 as 4:1 as the output, for an overall gain of three. This works the best so far, but a lot of expensive iron for a simple pre-amp.
