1. I personally do not use grid stoppers in that position before the 300b. I only put them in if there is some instability. The value is not critical. Use carbon comps between 100 and 300 ohms. You can go up to 1K with pentodes.2. You can run the heaters for a short time without harm. Don't use them like lightbulbs and expect them to sound good after 2000 hours.
3. Try it and see how it sounds. People live to slam the idea of things instead of the results of things. Electrolytics can sound fine and there impact is subtle at best. If you are using Oils in the first position after the rectifier you are getting a big benefit. Always leave room in your chassis for the big Solen poly caps to rid your self of the electrolytics.
