Hi,I've been listening to various shunt R types this past week.
Probably that Ohmite R you are using is NG, noise wise, as a audio shunt R, and you really should ONLY use a Mills MRA-12, or two in parallel.
Also, put this new QUIET MILLS shunt R in place, AFTER the second L, so it gets BOTH inductors working and stabilized !!! No need to "hide it", the shunt R, because its crummy / noisy sounding, and only have your shunt R draw stabilizing current though the first L.
Use best parts, properly, for the job.
