Andy Evans (my primary reference for tube taste testing, and should be yours too, IIANM) has opined that the 7591 sounds better in UL than triode. This is unique, in my experience. UL sounds rich, but sloppy, lo rez.I think that this may be a circuit-dependent thing. I would much like him to chime in here, and detail his experience in this respect. I respect his experience.
I have schems for anyone who wants to build a Machine around this device, but must dis; this is audioporn only - I have not built any of these circuits, and so cannot discuss implementation details.
In my experience, the only negative aspect of triode strapping is loss of max output power. Everything else about the musical experience is enhanced.
