Are all sandblock wirewound resistors made to be built in fused? Do they have a tiny wire on one end that acts as a fuse? What else is wrong with them? I thought all "fused" resistors were to be labeled as such. I know any resistor will act as a fuse if stressed but these are used in solid state output stages and in power supply pass transistor to protect the bjt's emitters. What is a better substitute. Someone said these sound bad. I know there is no way to protect bjt's when the fit hits the sand other than current limiting or crowbar. Thanks, Ray
