Pull the drivers and it's bye bye output valves but then again , are you going to pull the valves while it's running ? Try using a fusible resistor between output stage cathodes and 0V in case you are worried about this . Alternatively DC coupled cathode followers to the output stage grids is a (fairly safe) way of direct coupling or a CCS under the output stage . By the way 8417 may be a pain to get stable in such a circuit , these valves are best suited for cap-coupled self bias circuitscheers
