AC will not pick up any noise, it may radiate noise, but not likely. I have AC umbillical coming into a phono stage with no noise issues. The transformer is more likely to radiate noise than the wire. Have the rectification in the preamp and you can combine the AC B+ with the AC heater in the same bundle of wires without problems.
