The can cap has 2x80mfd sections. I took that out of the loop and put in parallel 2x47mfd in place of each 80mfd section. So as I see it voltage out of the rectifier>> 2x47mfd>> 100ohm>> 2x47mfd,B+ pickup point>> 3900ohm>> 47mfd,voltage pickup>> 10Kohm>> 47mfd, no voltage used here, end of PS. I striped tone controls and a 12AX7 out of the amp so this last part of the PS could have been supplying the first 12AX7 that fed the tone controls. This was my first amp project. When I bought the console it worked but hummed so I replaced the caps and removed the amp and wired it up so I could use regular speakers. Worked like a charm so I just left well enough alone. Looking at it now and having seen a few schematics it seems like that has a lot of capacitance.
If I removed the rectifier tube I could measure the secondary voltatage correct? Knowing that, what else would I need to know to redesign the PS?
TIA,
Bryan
