RE: Any tricks for shielding diodes on filament supplies?

IMHO, a linear supply feeding a reg like the Coleman dht reg is way better sound wise than say a meanwell smps. This from my experience powering GM70 finals.

If light and cheap are what you're after then go smps. If quality sound is what you're after and you have the real estate, then go linear. Rob's done the work for you already.

Quiet can mean a number of things. Sure, you can get both quiet as in, I can't hear hum or buzz with my ear in the speaker. I found the linear to be better at the quiet end when playing music.

You really only want to do this once and not as many times as I did.
