RE: Is that an UltraPath?

My mistake, he is using a battery not a cathode resistor w/bypass cap. I see he is using battery bias on the cathode, which also acts as the AC current path to ground, but the circuit back to the plate is more complicated since I believe it flows through the main power supply battery and choke to get back to the plate. The original Ultrapath has a nice local AC current loop circulating through the tube, the cathode "Ultrapath cap" into transformer primary winding and back to the plate which you do not find here. The tradeoff is whether a signal going through a couple of batteries is better sounding than a capacitor.
