Has anyone tried the Ohmite WN series non-inductive wirewound resistors carried by Digikey (I have no affiliation with Ohmite or Digikey)? 0.5, one and two watt versions in values up to 1,000 ohms are available. Yes, bigger power handling would be good, but $0.88 is a pretty attractive price.http://www.ohmite.com/cgi-bin/showpage.cgi?product=whm-wnm
