Re: Any problem when much higher load for input tube ?

Hi Doctor,

I would like to see you decouple the front end B+ from the output stage's B+, with a dropping R and an under 50 uF cap feeding the input stage. Cures two problems - at once.

There is no problem with 145 K but I believe there are better alternatives, as previously mentioned !!

Normally, a higher mu input tube is beneficially employed.

Is 220 uF really needed on the Input cathode's bypass, can a smaller high quality film cap work ??

I much like the output tube diss, 'will sound better than 60 mA, far LESS STRAINED !!

Use TWO Mills MRA-12s in parallel on the 2A3 Cathode R, to obtain 3.2 K ohms.

Have fun.
