Guesswork

My guess is that it's either the outermost of the two big can capacitors (closest to the left side of the power supply) or the black box right behind it . It's my guess that they'd both take the longest of anything in either chassis to heat up.
If my objective was simply to keep the unit warm I'd either install a small incandescant light (12V car light?) in the power supply and leave it on when the unit was off, or build a little rack/frame to hold the units up off the shelf and then put a lamp under it. Sound silly? Many will no doubt think so, but if keeping it warm without using up the tubes is the issue it's what I'd do. (Maybe put one of those psychadelic lava lamps under it for cool (er, I mean warm) factor . . . . . `,;^)

On the other hand , making sure what component is responsible and then dealing directly with that part may be more satisfying. Could be that if the can caps are it, that replacing them with better sounding ones and then improving the chassis ventilation to keep them cool would be a sensible option. Depends on how much you want to play around with it .. . .
