I've heard of BG caps dying from over-surges - but not just normal use.I guess the problem with boutique parts is the small number of batches that are run = less experience.
I would suggest a high quality Panasonic 'lytic - in general, I think Electrolytics have improved in quality leaps and bounds the past few years.
